I am a glutton for punishment. I know that too much sugar makes for an obnoxious 3 year old…yet i just gave her a frosted bunny sugar cookie at 7:20pm. Why do I do it? :-P
This past weekend we gained 30 My Little Ponies, their Castle (bet you didn't know Ponies lived in a castle with an elevator!), and their store (yes, they shop too…how else would they purchase clothing & food?)……plus, they ride Pony Scooters too (with helmets on, of course). Oh my! Short story, my 7 1/2 year old niece Taylor has outgrown Pony Land, and was gracious enough to pass them on to her little cousin Paige! We are grateful! Paige has played with them for the past 2 days straight!
Ontop of that, we also gained 30 various VHS tapes. My sister cleaned out her entertainment center, and gifted to us her collection of various Disney VHS tapes she had collected over the years through her 3 kids. The oldest now is 21, youngest is 11….so the tapes havent been watched in years. We still use our VHS player, so…..SCORE! We now own Pinocchio, Snow White, Peter Pan, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story (I & II!), Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Beauty & The Beast, Bambi, Lilo & Stitch, Alice in Wonderland…..just to name a few. Plus all the holiday classics with Winnie the Pooh, The Peanuts Gang, and more. Phew. Only downside is that VHS tapes are HUGE in comparison to DVD—now comes the task of finding WHERE to put them all…….
Child is running around like a lunatic whilest I type this….
The holiday weekend went well! We left around noon on Saturday, made good timing into Southern Mass…. unpacked and settled in …then trecked on down to my sister’s house in Plymouth.
Dinner ran late…but P had a blast playing with her older cousin Val. They disappeared for awhile and when i went to check on her, i found them sitting on Val’s bedroom floor….listening to a Taylor Swift CD, playing Barbies together. My little baby is growing up!
After a steak dinner, the girls decorated Easter eggs--- and Sharon & Mat dropped a bomb on us ---- telling us that Mat is suddenly a Daddy to an almost 2 year old boy. Wowie. Sharon has been dealing with a lot…..apparently they’ve known for awhile, but just recently got the positive proof via paternity test results. She’s sticking by his side tho. Good luck to them! It’s kind of exciting yet nerve wrecking at the same time…
So, does this make me a “Great Aunt”?! Eeek. Ill let that title pass until they are married and he’s her legal step-son. LOL. Should give me a few more years before Im a “Great” ANYTHING! Hah.
Easter Sunday started early…around 7:30’ish. She loved her basket, and Nana & Grandpa spoiled her incredibly with a huge candy assorted basket as well. Then off to Chris & Jen’s for an egghunt with Taylor & Owen!
….on a side note, i began packing up a bunch of Paige’s old toys tonight…and right now, she is suddenly reattached to everything. I STILL PLAY WITH THESE, MOMMY! ….yea…..you still play with a shape sorter, eh? I know I should have started this project AFTER she went to bed!

Ok—so the above was typed out 2 days ago…my goodness, where has this week gone? Anyhow--
Sunday was good. Went from my parents house to Chris & Jenn’s, where Taylor & Paige had an egghunt (and Owen did one too)—then Mike turned into crabby man and instead of going to visit his father, made some lame-ass excuse not too, and we went BACK to my parents house for 2 hours to do nothing. Paige played ponies- i played on the computer. Mike sulked. I swear, he has moments of sudden PMS.
Around Noon-ish we went to his Aunt’s house for “dinner”—Italian style. 10 years together and I still have a hard time eating lasagna on Holidays….but whatever, it was YUM! Left there around 4:30 and went to my Nana’s house, just in time to see some relatives as they headed out the door. Paige and Erin played like best friends. They’re too cute together. Left there around 6:30—and stopped by my brother’s house to see him & his fiancé and check on their home-improvement projects--- on the way back to my parents house, we grabbed some BK for dinner, since our prior meal was at 2pm! We all slept like babies that night!

The weather has been gorgeous here all week, and keeps getting better! Tomorrow it’s supposed to be 70 & sunny! Woo!
Tomorrow I also sign my “baby” up for Preschool!!!! She will start in the fall. …..Time sure flies…
Will write more later. I'm feeling irritated again at people whom i stupidly keeping thinking are “friends”. I really need to let go and move on…..i keep setting myself up for disappointment over and over again! Arg.
