Monday already?

And it's a dreary cold & rainy Monday to boot! What a way to start the week, eh?

We REALLY need to eat out less...it's becoming WAAAAAY too often, it's embarrassing to admit! I think last week....i had ate-out for like ...ummm 8 meals? Yes....seriously--and a bunch of that was fastfood. (breakfast a few mornings, 1 or 2 lunches and take out or eating out for dinner like 3x). Yuck. And I still bitch about my weight...yeah yeah yeah. I know we'd do better on money if we just ate at home...but most of the time, it's a conveinence factor.....We've been leaving my work later than usual...and it's already dinner time...and face a 25 minute drive home....

I know, excuses, excuses. Today was the last day, i swear!

Thursday was fun, post the Wednesday ear gouging incident. After work, P & I took a nice long walk to the park...she played there with another little girl before we headed back home. At dinner, i went to pull her hair away from her mouth so she could eat hair-free....and noticed a trail of dry blood from her ear, down her face and all over her neck. :-(

Friday morning she woke with more blood on her pillow & sheets. Enough is enough....these drops arent working, and Mommy really sucks. So i called the Pedi first thing Friday morning...they were VERY concerned (which freaked me out more!)...and we got her in at noon.

Paige flipped in the doc's office. Lovely. The pedi was quick to admit she couldnt see anything in her ear--- too much fresh blood. Said she needs to be seen by an ENT....tho the ENT was at lunch...so stick around. They sent us downstairs to the Cafeteria to grab some lunch while we waited-- and when we arrived, we found there were no appointments available....maybe....maybe not. This game continued about another hour, when they finally took us back to another room. Thankfully the peditrician's office has a TON of toys in the waiting room, so Paige was having a blast and didnt want to leave!

Anyhow...couldnt get seen on Friday-- but the ENT, going by the pedi's description, gave a new prescription. Different ear-drops....this time, these ones have a steriod in them (to help with the inflammation)-- and added in an oral antibiotic to ensure she doesnt get any infection from the cut.

Thank goodness--- the new mix seems to be working. By Saturday night, the bleeding/oozing slowed down A LOT. Sunday night, we had none at all. Woohoo! She has an appt later this week to check to see what the actual damage was and to check on the healing.

Paige has been such a trooper though, through all of this. We took her out for ice cream Friday afternoon as a treat for being so tough. The ear hasnt hurt her since the night of the accident too...which is good as well. I'd probably be beating myself up more if she were in pain, ya know?

Let this be a lesson to everyone out there.....DO NOT USE Q-TIPS ON EARS!!!! I knew not too...but just wanted to do one lil surface scoop...and now look where we are. :-(

Anyhow...in the midst of all of this...my back was still hurting. Add in some cramps & bloating too...and Im a mess. Sunday it all crashed down on me, the pain too much. I went to the doctor's today, they ran a series of tests to check for a UTI or possible Kidney issues. We wait and see. Also need to take a HPT before i start taking tons of Advil, since Im officially "late"-- tho that means nothing since Im late like every other cycle.

So...that's the drama in a nutshell! LOL! Not looking for pity, cause frankly...ive been taking it all in strides and am doing OK.

Can't wait for the rain to stop so we can go out for a walk again! I still need to pick up some more Easter basket items too....and make sure my mom is up to par again on doing an Easter egg hunt for the 7 grandkids!

Oh yea, i took off the members only comments setting on this-- so now anyone, a blogger or not, can comment...or even just say "hi" and let me know you're out there. I wont bite. .... well... maybe..... ;-)

I'm glad that it sounds like everything is healing! Be sure to let us know what the ENT said at the follow up.

On a different note I have only bought ONE Easter basket item. Talk about waiting til the last minute! I do have a few more days thank goodness!
