But alas.... with melting....comes.....leaking & flooding! Oi! Can't all be silver linings and rainbows, i guess. We got a slow leak in the basement due to all the melt.....and...for the first time.... a big leak on the front porch. Yikes....that one pisses me off, tho. I went out there this afternoon to get something, and realized the rug was SOAKED, as was the ottoman, blinds and window. Luckily for Paige, the leak is NOT on the side where her playroom is! So...her toys were spared, all but a wicker toy-chest.....which is drying. From what I can guess, since I cant see up on the roof all that well, is that the ice layer under the snow on the roof is just too much water......or perhaps the gutter is still frozen over...either way....what a pain. I got a ton of towels out there right now just catching the drips (its dripping in at the seam of where the ceiling meets the wall)...i hope no more damage comes from this!
Lets back-track and recall how the morning started. Remember how earlier this week i mentioned Paige was wiping her own bum? Well, so far so good....but we have an issue with over-usage of the paper products (so i see its a trend amongst the 3 yr olds!). She's clogged the toilet with TP more than once already, and already used up the entire tub of the flush able wipes. Arg. Anyhow....yesterday morning she went after she first got up....there were no wet wipes left, she she in her infinite 3 yr old wisdom, decided to make her own using toliet paper and water from the sink. Well.... TP is biodegradable and dissolves into mush pretty quick, right? She didnt know this...as she'd wet it, it's mush up and she'd panic and drop it into the sink-- thus filling the bathroom sink with soggy TP (thankfully UN USED!). Well, in fear she was gonna get in trouble...she dosent tell me. :-P .... i go in the bathroom after i hear her russling around too much.....and find the sink almost ready to over-flow! I hit the drain....no go. I scarily reach my hand in the suds and pull out a softball sized wad of tp. Lovely. I gave her a lecture on not wetting TP...hopefully she remembers this. LOL. (Mental note-- need to buy more flushable wipes!)
Day of water continues.....LOL. I swear...my life is like one big cartoon! While doing the dishes, the Pur Water Filter we have on the kitchen sink decided to spontaneously just fall apart in my hands...piece by piece! I got it back together now for the most part, but the outer seal will need to be re-glued. Piece of crap!
THEN, to top it off...Paige was a bit too splishy splashy in the tub tonight and managed to soak the bathroom floor. Oi.
Ok...you can laugh now...I did. *Sigh* Hehe.
Work has been so slllllllllllooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww this week. Which is good....means i get paid to sit on my ass and play computer games & surf the 'net all day. Hah!
Paige got invited to her first birthday party! A girl from playgroup just turned 4, and Paige got an invitation to her party, which is this Sunday at a local kid's play place. Too fun! We're looking forward to it! The parents requested no gifts....tho i feel wierd showing up empty handed!
Have I mentioned my child is obsessed with Taylor Swift?
The cats are getting huge. They are now both 6 months old. Buster is 6 lbs and
a BRUTE....Belle (whom we call "Belly" a lot)...is just shy of 5 lbs....and very sleek like a lil black panther. We've started to let them into the basement since they are now big enough to not get stuck in something down there. However, this seems to have sparked the exploration bug in Belle....and now she assumes she can go out ANY door of the house. She darted out the kitchen door when I was coming in today!! NONONONO!!! My goodness girl. These cats will NOT be outdoor cats, after what happened to poor Jasmine. We simply live on too busy of a road, granted we have a HUGE backyard --- that dosent stop cats from venturing out front (my brain knew it was for her too, but my heart also knew how much she LOVED being outside!). I need to warn Mike to be extra vigilant with the outside doors now that we have an early escape artist. Which reminds me....I still need to get them their 3rd PureVax shots....Kiddo is zonked out.... i just finished vacuuming.... gonna go find me something to do....

That suuucks about your leaks!! I'm just now learning that buying a home means finding all these crappy problems and having to pay for them - not cool!
We're out of flushable wipes too. Max usually does a decent job with the TP, but is paranoid about getting some #2 on his hands, so he doesn't always get all the way down to the right "spot". hehe I usually have to do a follow-up wipe to make sure he "covered his bases" good enough. He did pee standing up for the first time yesterday, so that was exciting! :) I see LOTS of pee in my future...all over the bathroom floor, in cups, on the back of the toilet seat.... sigh!
