My daughter always amazes me. She is growing up so fast. Cliche, i know....but really, you do not grasp how quickly time flies until you become a parent.
Last night she got herself completely ready for bed. Washed her hands & face, then brushed her teeth-- went to the bathroom-- then into her room where she picked out her own PJ's, undressed out of her clothes and then dressed herself into her jammies (all of that up to this point are things she HAS done before--)--but the big part was, she even successfully removed her pony tail and brushed her own hair! I did a double check ...and low and behold, not a single snarl-- nicely brushed! Go P Go!
We are back to the "why's". She had a mega bout of this around 2 1/2 years old....and it's back. Everything that comes out of my mouth, is responded with a "Why?"...ARG! Even simple things like "Here's a napkin" and "do you want juice or milk?" ....Why? Why? Why?!
She has also recently gone through another growth spurt. I believe we are over 40 inches tall now... but will need to break out the tape measure to be sure. She is getting so tall & lean! Wednesday night i dragged out a box in her closet full of summer clothes & hand-me downs from Taylor. We went through it all... about 80% of the stuff Jenn gave me from Taylor recently is too small! Eeek! Bummer, cause there were a TON of adorable shorts/shirt sets in 4t.... the shorts fit P just fine..but the shirts DO NOT. Heck, P still surprisingly fits into a lot of her 2t shorts, since length is often an issue in pants-- we don't encounter that with shorts! So...we are totally set for shorts, jeans and capris for awhile thank you to Jenn-- tho I will need to get P some summer shirts in 5 or 5t. I will admit i do enjoy shopping for her in the little girl section now rather than the baby section-- the selection is much "cooler"! (Tho there will be no Hannah Montana or High School Musical BS in our house!-- it is obnoxious how much propaganda crap there is of that stuff out there in little girl items!). Last year I scored at a big sale at Target for summer stuff & at JC Penney...i will try there again. (Tip-- always buy 1 size larger at Target--- Circo brand SHRINKS the 1st time you wash it!--Other than that tho, it holds up well).
P found her flip flops....or what she calls, her "slipper flops" while going thru the summer stuff. I had to pry them from her...she wants to wear them all the time NOW...but there's still snow on the ground outside! Oi! She's such a shoe freak.
So, going through her dresses, i realized, she still fits in last year's Easter dress (i bought it in 4t last year...it was a tad bit big...but the 3t was too snug). This past Christmas she wore her Christmas dress from the prior year..... how tacky will it be if i have her re-wear the Easter dress again too? It's a Carter's pink dress with white polka dots and a chocolate brown sash-- i thought maybe if i get her a new shawl/sweater to wear over it and new shoes....it'd be like new again, right? Hehe. Im so cheap.

Wow! P is growing a lot! My oldest dd was 44pound and 44 inches tall at her 4 year old check-up and she also wore 5T the summer she turned 4. I don't think it will be the case with Emma. She's super tall but very petite. I have to go through V's clothes to see how much of what I saved fits. I have tons of dresses. I can't resist dresses and luckily E LOVES to wear them. She looks so cute!
Sorry for the rambling :-) Congrats on having such an independent daughter! They sure are amazing at this age.
