Birthday went well-- thank you to all of those whom wished me well. It was low key-- Paige made me a card and was soooooooo excited for me, it was too sweet. She hugged me and wished me Happy Birthday about 100x that day, no exaggeration. The 3 of us met up for lunch at the 99... which was followed by an ice cream cake dessert. Dinner was just me and P as usual...i made some veggie soup for us, and we had another serving of cake after. I was in a sugar coma that night. ;-)
What do you do when a friend tells you her husband drinks between 12-16 beers a DAY? I do believe that is the definition of an alcoholic, esp since he cannot function without it. She states that he is never even buzzed-- true to that....as the body does build up a tolerance over time and I totally agree he's on the "functional alcoholic" side. But still, that doesn't make it anymore acceptable. And I know very well she could be reading this right now--- so hun.... please know I am just worried..... worried for his health, and the future of your family.
Work is like the complete opposite of what it was this time last week. QUIET AND SLOW!!! Sales are out on a marketing seminar all this week-- which is what makes up most of our staff. So the building is like a ghost town. Just myself, traffic, front desk, production and a handful of on-air staff. I still need to clean out the station vehicles from the Taste of Home show...but damnit-- sales people keep taking them to the seminar-- Grr. Tomorrow, they tell me. Tomorrow.
Not much else going on. Was up on and off all last night....so Im a bit sleepy today. Stayed up way too late reading my new book-- just as i was about to put it down to go to sleep....one of the key characters was shot--- so of course i had to keep reading to ensure he's ok!
Then Paige randomly appeared in my bed around 1:30am.... she was chilly and asking why i had shut Mickey's light off. I just snuggled in with her and she fell right back asleep. This morning she tells me she was afraid of the dark.... which would explain why she wanted Mickey's light back on. Ill have to dig her night-light back out.... as the poor fishy needs some sleepy time too!
My nephew was suspended from school yesterday for the 1st time (at least i *think* it was his first suspension!)-- he got in a fist fight. He claims the other kid threw the first punch. Regardless, its just another link on his chain of anger related issues....
My cousin's doggy may be paralyzed-- something about a nerve in her spine...they tried shots and sort of doggy chiropractic....it looked like it was gonna work....but i just caught word it's not. The surgery to fix it, which is not guaranteed...is over $4000--- what a tough decision on their part-- poor Lexi! I feel for them too...as they have a young daughter like me....Erin will be so sad if they have to put that dog to sleep...
The snow is melting! This time change crapola has me all off-kilter. Ive been going to bed late- waking late.... having dinner late.... im still mentally an hour behind. Tho i do enjoy the longer days! It gets dark around 7pm now! Woo! 2 months ago it was dark by 5pm!
OK--- should get some work done....
