Randomness....cause hey...that's the blogs title, isn't it?
- I must admit, OPK's are HIGHLY satisfying after 6 months of 1 line appearing every time you pee on a stick. I mean, i know it's just telling me when my surge is and best time to ttc....but dang it...I pee on these tests that look EXACTLY like HPT's...and i get 2 lines every day. It's totally stoking my ego. ;-) Anyhow, I'm on day 3...still a dark test line and faint 2nd lines. Supposedly I should O this Saturday...so i suspect tomorrow night I will get 2 dark lines..... lets hope.
- How do stay-at-home Moms to preschoolers & older kids do it?! I mean, I totally, completely get it for infants and toddlers-- you spend the day chasing them around, keeping them out of trouble, pouring drinks, making snacks, cleaning up, teaching them the basics, etc. But what about those that stay home with independent preschoolers only? How have you not torn your hair out from the sheer boredom yet? Ever since my 4 y/o started preschool, my work schedule has changed, a bunch. I am now home every day at 2:45pm to pick her up from school. I walk there (cause we all know my fat ass needs the exercise!).... i enjoy my daily walks and enjoy walking back, chatting with her. When we get home...she is usually a bit spent and wants to just vegge out with a snack and Tv or a quiet activity like Play-Doh, or maybe a computer game. I usually take this time to clean up around the house-- figure out dinner, etc. Ok...that's done in like 30 minutes. Maybe do some laundry. ....this is when I cant figure out what else to do. My kid is content and occupied. House is clean. It's too early to start dinner. WTF do I do?! A day or 2 of this is relaxing....but 5 days a week.....my god, Im feeling useless from the utter boredom.
- I suppose I need a hobby. What I like to do is video editing, website stuff, etc. However, I spend literally a collective 8 hours a day on the computer. Plus, I feel bad when P is awake to be hiding in the back room of the house on the computer. I need something ultimately that keeps me AWAY from the computer. Facebook, Babycenter, blogging, etc is my sheer weakness. I need something else to pour my free time into!
- In other news....it's fuckin' cold out! I refuse to turn on the furnace yet! If I do it now, we'll be out of oil come December. No f'in way, jose.
- Today is my Friday. Mike & I took tomorrow off. Gonna head into the city with the kiddo to see the Ringling Bros/Barnum & Bailey. I havent seen their show since I was a kid. Looking forward to it. May browse the mall for a bit too to waste some time and will be grabbing dinner before the show as well.
- Yesterday into work was an eventful one. On top of Chesterfield Hill and my dash starts beeping. "CHECK TIRE PRESSURE". So I scan the digital display over to read my tires...it says my right rear tire is only 26 ...... 25 ..... 24.... oh shit! LOL! Its a slow leak...but it's certainly leaking. I pull into a gas station when I get into town...wondering if I can just fill it. I get out...and hear "sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss". Awww fudge. I call the service place...they tell me to come right over, they'll try to plug it.
20 minutes after I arrive, the guy comes in with this triangular piece of steel in his hand. It looked like a metal arrowhead. "Here's what was in there". Unfortunately plug kits generally seal nail-like holes. This damn piece of steel tore gash into my tire. Damn it. $153 later, I had a new tire mounted and balanced.... as well as a much needed oil change & tire rotation. *Sigh* . Bye, Bye Money! Oh well....thank goodness for my car sensor though...had it not warned me the tire was getting low, I would have just driven to work...and probably come out to a flat tire later on!
- Paige had her 1st ever school pictures on Tuesday. We were unoriginal and dressed her in the same outfit she wore on her 1st day of school. Hey, she looked cute in it, why not? I am eager to see how they came out. We bought the cheapest simple package...and it still cost $20. I couldn't NOT do school pics tho...this is her first year! She hasn't had professional photos done since her 1st birthday...
