So we got to see lil man (or should i say lil BIG man?) again this morning!
He's squashed in there...so it was so difficult to make out what we were looking at on the u/s! We saw the top of his head.... some torso shots....his stomach, femur bone and what we believe was an arm...LOL. The u/s tech of course knew what she was looking at, but Mike and I were puzzled half the time. LOL.
Fluid amount is perfect.
He's practice breathing....and was moving his lips around like he's drinking/eating. It was an hour after I ate breakfast...the tech said it looked like he was enjoying the food. ;-)
He's a big chunk. I am 37 weeks, 6 days. Most measurements put him at 41 weeks, 2 days.
They estimated on the machine he is 11 lbs, 4 oz. HAH!!
My OB doesnt believe he's THAT big.... YET. He is squished cause my placenta is at the top. So it was utterly impossible to get a real good reading.
She checked me internally, I am a finger-tip dilated, but still pretty thick. She offered to strip my membranes, but I declined.
We discussed the possibility of induction, but I strongly want to let him try and come on his own. Just because he is big, does NOT mean his little lungs and liver are 100% ready. We decided that when the time comes, I will attempt to vaginally birth him, however, if its taking too long to descend or if he/or myself get into ANY distress....we will do a C-section. Which is the official plan. Obviously my body can birth a 10 lber with no issues....so we will put trust into my body!
Also, if i go to 40 weeks and he is still sitting snug....we will then set up a date to induce so I don't go post-term.
On a cute side note-- he has his sister's big chunky sumo face that she had as a newborn. Teheehehe.
