Thursday Night Randomness

• When did it start getting dark at 8pm?! I swear...this is a recent occurrence. Like...maybe the Earth is off-kilter. Did it get knocked around? Maybe it's spinning faster. Who knows...but what I do remember is.... LONG LATE summer nights as a kid. I remember how hard it was to go to bed early the night before starting the school year...because it was still SUNLIGHT out! Now...it is mid-August...and dusk by 8pm. Keep in mind...back in my day (cause ya know...im so old..;-))... we started school the week AFTER Labor Day weekend. They dont do that anymore....

• Speaking of school...my darling lil girl begins her long journey in Education in less than 2 weeks!!! I cannot believe that time is coming. She'll be 4 in 4 days...and starts preschool the following week. Wow! We're all excited and anxious at the same time. She's never been away from us, other than a weekend at my parents house!

• And more on the school front-- i brought in her medical forms today to the school, and inquired about when 1st month's tuition payment is due, since I havent even received classroom info or anything yet. Well...they inform me papers were mailed out late, due to a last minute school board meeting. As the woman put it "they are beefing up the preschool program"..and "you will get the new info in the mail if not later this week, early next week". I ask her if that meant hike in the monthly fee...and she just smirked and repeated "they are totally beefing up the preschool program...which is GOOD news"....yea, OK. That is GOOD news. But I know what that also means...means our $75 fee will go up too. I just hope times & days dont change....... and seriously, how can they get away with doing this 2 weeks before school opens?! Dang.

• So, like I was starting to say in the post below, I have been such a crabby bitch lately. Seriously...my patience is non-existant. I guess it's just stress...but I cant help but feel bad for my kid. I just havent been in the mood to tolerate the usual spastic child daily stuff...and Ive yelled, screamed, and swore more times than I want to admit in the past week. *Sigh*.

• Mike's lost Uncle/God-Father was finally put to rest this week. We had to miss the burial cause it was on a Tuesday, and Mike couldnt get 2 days off in a row to accomodate travel time, etc since it was down in Plymouth, Mass. But...his family finally has closure to the disappearance of his Uncle...which happened almost 30 years ago. Still a TON of unanswered questions...but closure. The Boston Herald did a really nice piece in the paper about them as well since the disappearance was public and grew cold and unsolved back in the '80s. What a crazy past 2 months tho....his Dad is still in a mental fog over it all. Who wouldnt be!? If anyone is interested in reading the story..i can send you the newspaper link.
  

• Been staying productive this summer. A few weeks back I took her Blueberry & Raspberry picking, and did a trip to the Beach with my Mom. Did a late-night at the Fair the week after.... and Last week P and I went bowling, I introduced her to skating, and we even washed my car in the driveway. This week we went to a local lake for a few hours one afternoon and played in the water & sand. Just trying to squeeze every last details out of summer! ;-)
  
  
  • With all that said....we have no clue what to do on her actual birthday. I got free Canobie Lake Park tickets...but if we do that, we'd really prefer to stay overnight in the area...since it's a 2+ hour drive..... we've considered it, but money is really tight right now. She has given no ideas as to what she would like to do...other than go to Walmart and get her Barbie bike.... ;-)... ...(which there will be no need to do cause we will be purchasing it this weekend and surprising her with it on her Birthday). All she says she wants is cupcakes on her birthday....and a rainbow cake at her party. Ok...got that. But what to do for fun with just the 3 of us? Both Mike and I took the day off. We'll figure something out. Maybe climb Mt. Monadnock?
