Flea House sucks. After what we thought was a successful treatment several weeks back-- turns out not to successful-- we must have missed *something*. They came back with vengeance! Saturday we TORE the house APART. Everything out of the bedrooms, wiped down. Vacuumed everything. Washed all curtains, bedding and stuffed toys that were on the bed. I shampooed the carpets-- and washed the hardwood floors and baseboards. We bathed the cats, combed them with the flea comb several times and Frontlined them AGAIN-- and kept them quarantined to the bathroom all day while we scoured the house.
We do NOT want to bomb the house. We just dont. I dont want that chemical shit on my stuff where my young child plays. I so hope we got this back under control.
Belle still is all scabby & bald around her neck from a reaction to the fleas. I am still on the fence as to whether to bring her to the vet. They said they cant reccomend anything w/o seeing her....and said if shes not getting better to bring her in for a steriod shot and antibiotics. I know that'll cost at LEAST $100.... what to do what to do.....we're hoping she mends on her own...but on the flip side...i dont want the poor thing to get worse.
The cats are still banned from the bedrooms & office (those are our carpeted rooms). I cannot even begin to describe what a pain in the ass it is to open and shut the doors every time you want to enter a room-- and quickly too...cause the cats want in them sooo badly! And of course the 3 year old doesn't open and shut quietly.....so its "SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!" all day. :-P
They still have fleas-- we've been flea combing them several times a day and vacuuming the floors at least once a day as well as wet mopping. Will continue to do this until hopefully the life cycle of these lil blood suckers is cut short! Just waiting for the Frontline to do it's thing....
I hope.
We still havent gotten to the front porch--- which sucks cause that is also the playroom. We didnt get to bed til 1am on Saturday night....simply ran out of time and I had to work all day yesterday. Paige really wants at her toys..... and I hate keeping that door closed all day.... i really need to get cracking out there and start deep cleaning it as well. Mike says we should board it up and pretend the room doesnt exist... ;-) ...hehe.
