Hmmm... it's been a week- oops!
Paige had a bad cold last week, but is finally all better. She was so kind as to share it with Mommy now. My throat has felt like i swallowed sandpaper for 3 days now. Blech.
On the tail end of her cold she turned into a total brat for like 3 days.... always seems to happen... we baby her when she's not feeling well, then as she's feeling better she expects it to continue or all hell breaks loose. :-P Thursday Mike played secret squirrel and had Laurie & Ken come up while I was at work-- Ken has a Cannon Rebel and took some cute pictures of Paige in her summer dresses at our home & outside (and Laurie did her hair for her) --- which was turned into my mother's day gift (sooo cute-- i just need to buy some 8x10 frames now). Anyhow... we all know the inabilities 3 year olds have when it comes to keeping secrets-- but Paige did OK--- however, I had no clue there were secrets being kept and honestly thought P was being a brat and LYING to me-- she refused to tell me what she did that day, what she had for lunch, etc...and was telling me ..what i thought were stories...about Auntie Laurie not playing with her. I was a bit pissed when I drilled her to tell me the truth-- THEN found out I was ruining my Mother's Day surprise. I told Mike next time to just tell me there is a secret and I'll know not to drill. (we have issues from time to time of Paige lying...so ive been diligent about keeping on her about telling the truth!).
Anyhow-- Saturday Mike finally mowed the lawn for the 1st time this Spring..it was crazy overgrown and weedy--- its been a nice reminder as to why we love this house so much-- the kickass backyard!!! Its all green an lush again and gorgeous! P & I went food shopping (what chaos!)-- then we vegged the rest of the day-- had some pretty decent thunderstorms that evening and ordered some NY-Style Pizza for dinner.
Mother's Day rocked! Mike did it right-- kudos to him. I woke to Paige holding a "breakfast menu"-- as she played waitress. Had breakfast in bed-- hung out in bed for awhile and watched Tv (i didnt feel very good anyhow). Mike cooked & cleaned-- stripped the beds & did laundry and even put clean sheets on the beds. P & I went out back for a few hours-- then had tacos for dinner. He even made brownies for dessert! Mmm! P was an eating machine-- she had cereal for strawberries for breakfast, then had a plate with toast, eggs, hash & bacon around 11am-- then a pb&j on wheat sandwich around 2pm-- and she ate 3 whole soft tacos at dinner! 3! Shes never eaten more than 1 and a half-- each was stuffed with taco seasoned ground turkey, lettuce & cheese. She was in bed and sound asleep by 7:30pm.
My throat is still hurting-- im trudging through...back at work today. I had a lot more to recap on...but have lost my motivation.....i got a bunch of photoshoping of ads i need to get done today...so off i go...

WOW, Mike!! That's awesome!! He really stood up to the plate on that one! Ive been asking for breakfast in bed my whole marriage and have yet to have it! Sounds like a great weekend - you deserved it! :)
Sounds like you had a great Mother's Day! Kudos to your hubby! I also got breakfast in bed, though Emma ate half of it :-) and some very nice handmade gifts. We had a nice day relaxing inside and outside.
Hope you feel better soon!
