Man, it’s cold in here!!

Guess Monday should be official “Blog Day”?

We’re going to NYC! This weekend is Mike & I’s 5 year Wedding Anniversary—and for once, the boy came up with something to do--- i put in some ideas…but really let him flow with it, cause ya’ll know who usually wears the pants around here! Yipppeeee!

This’ll be our first weekend w/o child, too! I’m so excited yet sad/nervous! My mom will have her, and Im sure they’ll have a blast and she will be spoiled rotten. As my friend Wendy put it today “Paige gets to go on vacation too!”…. I like looking at it that way!

We made mini-pizzas for dinner tonight—P downed 3 of them—along with like 6 baby carrots—where o’ where does she put them?!

We had a silly fun afternoon. I took her to the park on the way home—it was empty—so just the 2 of us. I had been in a sour mood all day and really wanted to break out of it—so i pushed myself to play at the park (I’m usually the Mom that sits on the bench and watches)--- well….i got out there, and we had SOOO much fun. Im so glad i made myself do it. I was so out of breath and laughing. Mommy went crazy silly and was running up all the slides while Paige tried to catch me, then we’d switch roles. Phew. Im sure I’ll feel THAT tomorrow. ;-)

This weekend was productive. Saturday we did some much needed yardwork. I moved the base of the veggie garden up closer to the house—and did some mega weeding of the gardens. We planted some pansies Paige picked out at the market last week, as well as some random bulbs my mom & a coworker gave me. I hope something takes from them. The danger of frost is still in effect, so we won’t be planting the vegetable plants just yet—probably do that in early June.

Sunday was house cleaning day. We BBQ’d dinner—played Candy Land …had a decent day. P likes to top off good days like that by being sooooo rotten at the end. :-P …Why do they do that? Mike and her had had such a good day together, and when it came to bathtime, she got really fresh mouthed and rude to me and even spit at him! WTF?! He was so offended! I felt bad—after her shower I told her she hurt Daddy’s feelings--- thankfully she knew enough on her own that she owed him an apology without me even suggesting it. Anyhow…..

I woke at 4am to a *SLAM* in her room—i bounced out of my bed and down the hall to find her standing in the middle of her room in the light of her night-light….naked from the waist down! LOL. Apparently she had soaked her pull-up, and was trying to get a dry one….(the slam was her dresser drawer shutting). She was half-asleep. I helped dress her in dry clothes and tucked her back in.

We went 5 days last week in underwear at bedtime. Still a no-go. The first night she did ok…woke damp….but not wet….which was promising….but it all went quickly downhill each night following…til Mike and I finally agreed back in the pull-ups. *Sigh*. I hated to do it, and she SOBBED and fought us…. But what else are we to do when she’s wetting the bed not once, but TWICE a night? Poor kid. She HATES the pull-ups ….but simply cant keep that bed dry—even with us cutting out drinks before bedtime AND me bringing her to the toilet before I go to bed! We’ll try yet again in a few more months…no biggie.

It’s like a ghost town at work this week….half the staff is on a cruise. Yes, a cruise I gave away. *Sigh*. So no fair.

And speaking of cruises…the cruise we were supposed to go on is NEXT WEEK. *Sniff, Sniff*. I still feel horrible that we had to decline, even after Jen was offering to pay for $1200 of the cost--- but we simply couldn't come up with the rest of the bill with the airfare, taxes, tips, passports, etc (which was over $1,000). It makes me sad. *Sigh*—oh well, I hope she has an AMAZING Wedding and an awesome time! Chance of a lifetime—goodbye.

My cat is a klepto. I left a piece of pizza on the kitchen counter from dinner—and after I tucked Paige into bed--- i found it half-way across the dining room floor….sans-cheese. Lil brat. I know it was Buster—he’s done this before with chicken, pancakes, and even sausages right off the hot skillet on the stove!

Ok—I think I've babbled on long enough--- How was YOUR weekend?

Sounds like you had a great weekend. I love this time of the year when everything starts new in nature. Congrats on 5 years! I'm jealous of your trip sans kid. Maybe we'll do that next year for our 15th anniversary. Hope you have a GREAT time!
My oldest wore pull ups to bed till she was almost 5. We tried several times but with your same result and I got tired of changing sheets. Then one day we forgot to put pull ups and she did great and never wore them again. Emma stopped wearing them during the day in August and it's been 2 weeks without pull ups at night. I guess each kid is different... It's not a big thing anyway.
We had a great weekend visiting family and friends in Maryland. Next weekend it's yard work.

M: Thank-you!

15 years? Wow!! Thats awesome! Glad you got to visit family!

Yea, even her pedi says it may take some time breaking the bed-wetting cycle. My Dad did it til he was about 6, and Mike did it til he was 5. They say it's hereditary... bummer. The kid's been day time potty trained for almost 2 years now-- you'd think we'd have the night thing all worked out by now. LOL. Ah well. ;-)
