Tired Thursday.

My children are trying to kill me, I swear! I haven't gotten more than 4 hours of continuous sleep in over a week. Mix that with driving daily on icy roads and parenting two children solo after working every day... equals one frazzled Momma!

I told Dylan at 5:30am this morning after he woke me for the 2nd time during the night...that he was making Mommy crazy. His response was a HUGE gummy smile. ;-D

I woke at 1:30am this morning to hearing him SCREAMING from his room. Mike was in there with him...so I laid in bed for a few minutes...figuring Daddy would settle him down. After 5 minutes of hearing him still SCREAMING and hearing Mike's "ssshhhh!!"'s failing, ... I finally got up and went to see what was up. He was just beside himself, wouldn't eat, wouldn't take the pacifier, rocking was irritating him more. I walked in the room and said "whats the matter, buddy?" ...and he began to smile through his cries. So I took him from Daddy's arms...and in seconds...he was settled, and smiling. Apparently, all he wanted was Mama.

Melted my heart. My exhausted heart, but melted my heart all the same.

I talked with him for a few minutes. He smiled and cooed...and pulled my hair with joy. Then I passed him back to Daddy so he could get fed...and I went back to bed. Smiling.

It's nice to know you can have THAT awesome sort of impact on someone. :-)

Awww! That's a really sweet ending to a frustrating night. That used to totally happen with Gerritt and the boys too - he just didn't have the right "touch". =)

Isn't it wonderful to have those special "powers".
