New Year!

Well, Happy New Year to everyone out there in blog-land! New Year, new beginnings, blah blah blah. ;-)

We rang in the New Year in our usual mellow way: Chinese Take-Out, put kids to bed at normal time, then played Scrabble, ate snacks and drank beers til the ball dropped at Midnight.

2010 WAS an amazing year. I can't deny that. After 10 months, which seemed like an eternity, of trying to conceive, we FINALLY caught that egg in January 2010....ironically it happened after Mike and I had a HUGE fight at 2am during ovulation week...in which he tells me he had enough and didnt want to do this anymore. I was a mess and in tears for days.....and that Saturday...we finally were civil enough to talk again and made up. And our son was then conceived. (LOL).

Sunday, January 24th kicked off the "Year of the Baby". :-) In March I turned 30....Mike in April. May 5th we learned that "baby" was indeed a boy (which I had a feeling of all along!), June my brother got married and my pregnant self and Paige were in the Wedding Party... July was long and HOT HOT HOT....and Mike FINALLY started on the basement project. August was even hotter, my baby girl turned 5, and we finally got the basement completed and began emptying out the nasty old office that was to become the baby's room! Paige began Kindergarten!

September came...and we naively thought baby was going to come early...cause...well...if you SAW me.... you'd think the same thing. I was HUGE. ENORMOUS. GIANT! Baby's room was completed and I began washing all his hand me down clothes from Owen. Everything was put into place and we were ready for him!

October 1st was the big due date. And it came....and went....and I was still pregnant. Plans to induce got pushed back because we both were still happy & healthy and he was still waaaaay too high. 8 days later...he was forced out due to alarming ultrasound results...and our 12 and a half pound little moose was born. :-)

I feel like life has been a blur ever since! 8 weeks maternity leave....while on it...was nice and long... and well placed. Being home through Halloween and Thanksgiving was NICE! But in hindsight...it seemed too short.

2010 was a busy year. A blessing. Looking forward to 2011...a year full of milestones and firsts and more growing up for all of us!
