Dress me.

Trying to find new clothes.,...on a budget.

My soon to be sister in law's bridal shower is later this month, and I have nothing to wear. Besides, i DO need new pants BADLY. My maternity pants from my pregnancy with Paige fit oddly this time around. The waist in some fit-- but then they are too short. The waist fits on another pair, but the butt room in the pant is WAY TOO BIG...giving me that lovely saggy butt look.

But I dont have much money to blow on a whole new wardrobe.

Heres the blunt facts. I am a big girl. A lot of the trendy styles look silly on me. I have a small chest (I am a B cup, even when pregnant), so a lot of maternity tops I simply do not fill out. I got a big belly/butt/hips. I guess a "pear shape" woman. I am tall- and need longs in pants. I am 5'8, and weigh over 200 lbs. Generally I am a 16, or an XL. Which apparently are popular sizes on the Old Navy website...cause everything remotely cute I have found on there is "out of stock" in my size! ACK!

I do like the 1st outfit on this page: (the plaid baby doll with cardi & capris) http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=50215 ...but is that not appropriate for a shower? The shower decor is Hawaiian Theme ...in the banquet room of a restaurant/pub. Not too fancy, but I also dont wanna be a scrub.

I also like the outfit under neath that one...with the black leggings, pink top, white cardi- tho i fear I may only wear it that one time....the color top isnt really my taste, and w/o the cardi, that dress has ruffle sleeves-- eek.

If i get the 1st outfit--with a pair of jeans also, which i need...it will cost me $95 total. Ugh.

Suggestions? I was originally logging in to grab this for the shower: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=48687&vid=1&pid=735242&actFltr=true ..but of course they dont have my size (and i have a black short coverup that would go good over it).

I have to order something this week to get it to me before the shower!!

I would totally just get a regular sized maxi dress like the link you posted at the bottom - NOT in maternity size. I have one and it definitely has a lot of room in it (in fact, I end up looking pg in it, if I don't wear a belt...). And then, if you have a black coverup to go over it, just wear that. I would just make sure you find a maxi dress that is a stretchy material - not all cotton or something like that. That would be way cute, and I would bet you can find one for cheaper that the special maternity one.

I love that first link you posted too!

Also - you may want to check your local craiglist and see if anyone there are any maternity clothes lots for sale, just to be able to get some jeans and basics for cheap.
Walmart has some cute stuff that's only available online - http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_query=maternity&search_constraint=0&tc=0&ic=48_0&ref=+181605.421717&clicked_tab_value=All

I'll keep my eyes out! :)
