This Sunday deserves a Sundae....

Technically speaking, it aint "over" til the fat lady sings. The test said no 2 days ago....but the fat lady still hasn't sung. Just waiting.....still.

P is a lil crabby monster today. Its just fight after fight after fight. Whine whine whine!

Kudos to my husband. He spent from 8am til almost 4pm yesterday at the school helping build the new playground! Great volunteer work! I took P to the cow parade in Brattleboro in the morning, then we joined at the school. I helped for a whopping 40 minutes before one of the free daycare helping moms appeared holding Paige, whom had been crying for me. *Sigh*. It was like the gym daycare days allll over again. I took her to get some lunch....we chilled for a bit...and she wanted to rejoin all the kids and go play again. OK, cool. But wouldnt do it without me. Boo. So, i left my playground building duties and joined the daycare moms helping watch the 15 or so kids while the other parents worked on the playground.

I also got sooo burned sitting outside when we brought them out for "recess". Oi. I had lobster arms and face today! So sexy! ;-)

In other news, you know those "save the children" ads you see on Tv? Send like 10 cents a day...and you'll even get a photo of the child you helped? I feel like we've been talking part in somehting like this locally.

A co-worker of Mike's has a teenage daughter who had a baby about 2 years ago. THe family in general is not well off. Being that the girl was just a teen, and daddio ran off shortly after the baby was born...they have lacked a lot in the baby department. Over time Ive sent Mike to work with some stuff we had. We gave them P's old bouncy seat (which was handed down to me from a friend...so i felt obliged to hand it on)....I also gave her a diaper bag I had never used (i got like 6 of them at my baby shower...seriously, who needs that many?!)-- i loaded said bag with a bunch of baby girl clothes, some random toys, etc. It was the least we could do!

Anyhow....said co-worker and Mike were chatting last week, and coworker tells Mike how he's been riding with his granddaughter in his truck with NO carseat. NO CARSEAT?!!! The girl is almost 2 1/2 now. Other coworkers were telling the guy to just go buy a cheap backless booster (NO!!!).....etc.....but hey, at least the others were smart enough to know the kid needed to be in something other than just a seatbelt!

Anyhow...this is no good. Kid's mom has a carseat in her car.....which was a freebie from somewhere...and has NO PADDING...just the hard plastic shell. Ok, better than nothing I suppose.

We couldnt let this go. I told Mike to dig out P's old ComfortSport carseat we have in the basement that she outgrew last year. They can HAVE it. He brought it to work...it was like Christmas Day, as he put it.

The Mom took the ComfortSport for her car, since its much nicer than the hard plastic shell seat she had in it before. Grandpa now has the plastic seat.....which is much better then the NOTHING he was using before. Mike even took the extra step to show the guy how to secure the carseat into his pickup truck CORRECTLY (he said it was too loose before).

Anyhow,...the Mom sent us a sweet thank-you note along with a photo of the little girl. :-) Glad we were able to help. I feel fortunate to be in a family and have friends with lots of young children.... 80% of our kid stuff is hand-me downs.......which has saved us a TON over the years.

Thats all i got for now.....P just dressed herself for the day (after coming out butt- naked to inform me she was gonna get dressed...LOL)..and she is actually matching! The house needs a good cleaning after Ive been sick all week.....

Oh lovely...i just discovered the reason for her stark nakedness was she had pooped earlier and failed to wipe herself well. Said poop got all over her PJ Pants and tanktop. Instead of telling me, she chose to hide it in the hamper. Too bad she forgot the evidence all over the toliet seat and forgot to flush. Ick. Gotta love being a Mom!

No AF yet?! Woohoo - there's still a chance!
That's so cool that you guys gave her the car seat! I love doing things like that - it feels so awesome!
Thanks for the comments about our family pictures. I feel a little self-conscious about them (just about me - ugh), but I think they turned out pretty well. I want to be the first one to know if you get a BFP! :)
