Milestones, milestones, milestones!
This evening I answered the phone...and a little voice says "can I speak with Paige?"
"Sure....may I ask who's calling?"
"Yes....this is Nathaniel _________".
Yep. A little boy from Paige's class asked her for her number (and gave her his number too!) and called her today. They chatted for about 10 minutes on the phone...then handed the phones to their Moms-- and we set up a playdate for them. Hehe. Too cute. *Sigh*. My girl's first phone call from a boy! AYE!
In the land of lil ones....Dylan is growing like a weed! The boy keeps outgrowing everything lengthwise. Shirt sleeves get too short, pant legs stop above his ankles...LOL....he's just so darn TALL! He now wears 6-9 month clothes....and even some 12 month items as well....especially any 1 piece outfits!
- His hair is thickening up. I realized the other day its no longer that downy newborn fluff. He's getting real hair. I tried to give him another faux hawk tonight, and it wouldnt stay up like it used to with just water cause its much longer and fuller now. Awww. But it is a gorgeous golden brown color.
- His eyes are still in between. Im pretty sure now they will eventually be brown. Some days they still look dark blue....others, brown.
- He rolls both ways now.
- He can scoot around in his walker now.
- His babbling now includes "Mama" and "Bubba"....though Im not sure they are intentional....however, he did SCREAM at me from his crib while I was in the kitchen the other morning "MAMA BUBBA MMAMAMAMAMA BUBBBBAAAAA !!!" LOL. Coincidence? Hah. Cracked us up.
- He LOVES the cats! He is great with them and gently pats them (most of the time)....though is infatuated with their tails ....one day he WILL manage to grab one...and when he does....well...poor kitty. ;-) But in general, he's sooo sweet with them!
- He also has a devilish side already! He enjoys THROWING things. From his highchair, he'll hurl every toy overboard then yell until you pick them up. When he's done with a toy in his walker or seat....overboard and across the room they are thrown. Mike was trying to get him to take a nap in his swing the other day, and he didnt want to. So he kept taking his binky out of his mouth and throwing it out of the swing. Punk. LOL!
- He can hold his own bottle now, but not consistently. He can also take out and put his pacifier back into his mouth....again, not consistently, but has been practicing it in his crib and in the car.
- He's still not technically sleeping through the night. He wakes 1x to eat a night....and often wakes several other times cause he's rolled onto his belly and cant figure out how to get back over, or wants his pacifier. EXHAUSTING! Ah well.
- He started solids about 2 weeks ago. So far so good, except on bananas-- he may have gotten some blotches from it-- or from the washcloth i wiped him down with...not sure which, but either way, we're waiting on trying them again til later. Anyhow...he's had rice, avocado, sweet potatoes, apples, oatmeal, peas and tonight he tried peaches for the first time. He eats about 2 tbsps of food for dinner at night now. I forgot how much more laundry and cleaning having a eating baby was!
