End of a decade...

This Wednesday at 11:54am, I will say goodbye to my 20s...and at exactly 11:55am, on March 10th, 2010....I will enter my 30's. :-)

I am fine with this step & change. I feel complete, and accomplished. I feel like we've been through A LOT in 10 years.... a lot more than some people we know. It flew by, but at the same time, it didnt. 10 years is 10 years in the end.

10 years ago I was 20... Mike and I had been living in our 1 bedroom apartment in Taunton, Mass for almost a year. Our good friends were expecting their first child...a baby girl....and my brother Chris & his (now ex) wife were expecting his first child, a boy. I was a sophomore in college at BSC...had been working at WBIM since the fall....and was working in Chris' law office for over a year doing title work and real estate recordings. We hung out with Josh & Kate and Rich & Angie almost every weekend in some way. I was driving my '95 Plymouth Neon with the peeling roof...and Mike still had his Sunbird convertible. Our good friend Jen moved away to Arizona and Rick joined the Army.

I interned at KISS 108 FM the summer of 2001. 9/11 happened 2 weeks after I left there...at the beginning of my Senior year. I started interning at ClearChannel Radio in Providence in the Winter of 2001.

I graduated from BSC with my Bachelors degree in 2002. ClearChannel officially hired me in December of 2002. Mike proposed to me on 2/14/03. The Station Night Club Fire happened the very next week. Friends & coworkers were forever affected and lost.

In February of 2004, I got an odd email about a job offer in Keene, NH. Leary, I called about it...and was invited up for an interview. Things were lagging at CC-- so I figured I had nothing to lose. 2 Hour drive north on March 11, 2004-- The day after my 24th Birthday.... beautiful day....I was offered the position on the spot after many interviews & lunch. I mulled over it over the weekend with many trusted friends and even my current boss-- and decided to do it.

We had basically 2 weeks to pack and go! The first weekend in April, our family and friends helped us pack 5 years of our lives into a UHaul & a couple pick-up trucks....and we made a convoy up 495 to Route 2 to our new Condo in Keene. The place was HUGE. Work was great. We were happy, and had money.

We got married that May (back in Massachusetts)...and went on a Cruise for our Honeymoon. We bought our first brand new vehicle in August of 2004. (an SUV!)

That November, 2004-- our daughter was conceived. We spread the good news at Christmas time. Our "spare bedroom" transformed into a baby nursery over the next few months.... and we welcomed our bundle of joy on August 17th, 2005!

That next year just flew by.

Our landlords were heartless and sucked-- so our best move next was OUT OF THERE-- after a lot of hard work, tears and frustrations....we bought our first house on September 15, 2006. A small house, great shape, just out of date. We've put a lot into it already. And have I mentioned the awesome yard? Yea, it's the envy of the area.

Ask any parent and they'll agree. Life sort of goes into fast forward the moment you become a parent. From 2005 to present... life has been just that. Life. Ups and downs, poop, food, messes, crying, laughing, giggling, and so many great first moments!

Now I sit at 29 years old...about to leave my 20s. I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter, am currently expecting my 2nd child, own a home, am happily married for almost 6 years, have 2 great vehicles (and debt out our ears-- but lets look beyond that at this moment...LOL!), 2 full time jobs, and our health. THIS is why I feel accomplished. Life is good. What an awesome 10 years.

I can't wait to see what the next 10 bring!! :-)
